Sixt US Rental Terms
General Rental InformationThis reservation is not a rental agreement. Sixt is forwarding this reservation to our collaboration partner ALAMO.
There you will get the car and sign the rental agreement.
The renter and the driver have to be in possession of a valid driving licence.
Driving licences from non-EU countries (except Switzerland) are accepted if:
a) no visa has been entered in the passport.
b) the customer has a visa in his passport and at the time of hire has not been in Europe for longer than 6 months. If he has been in Europe for longer than 6 months, he must present a driving licence from an EU country.
Please show a valid ID card or passport at time of pick up!
Special rental information by booking of Prepaid rates
> Changing booking
A booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) in return for an alteration charge of EUR 20.00. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this alteration leads to a lesser rental cost.
> Cancellation
A booking can be cancelled before the start of the rental. In the event of cancellation, the payment already made towards the rental will be paid back subject to a cancellation charge. The cancellation charge shall be the amount of the rental charge ( including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days. Cancellations can be made online or in writing and must be addressed to: Sixt GmbH & Co. > No-show
In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time, the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.
Age Restrictions
A Young Driver Surcharge of USD 25 + local tax per day applies for drivers until 24 years. Payable at the location.
Conditions of Payment
Prepaid Tariff
The following credit cards are accepted: Eurocard/Mastercard, VISA Card, Diners Club and American Express. Debit cards (VISA Electron) are not accepted. The renter must be the owner of the indicatedcredit card. The authorised driver details and method of payment will be confirmed at reservation stage and cannot be amended. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for presentationoncollection of the vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card.
By booking a prepaid rate, the credit card will be charged before the start of rental,directly with the estimated total amount of rental. The amount that will be charged on your credit card comprises the price of the rental as well as all additional extra fees.
The rental charge (plusany other charges agreed, e.g. exemptions from liability, delivery charges, airport charges etc.) plus Value Added Tax in the statutory amount applicable from time to time must, as a matter ofprinciple, be paid in full for the agreed rental period, i.e. if the vehicle is collected late or returned early there shall be no refund.
General Insurance Conditions
Third Party Insurance
Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of USD 1 Mill for personal injuries and material damages.
Also included is uninsured - / underinsured Motorist with a maximum of USD 100.000.
Excluded from the insurance is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All insurance cover as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver's licence at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
Loss Damage Waiver removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage or theft and is included in the rate.
The excess is EUR 0,-
Carefree Personal Protection (CPP)
Alamo offers the purchase of optional CPP at the location at a price of USD 7,99 + local tax which provides emergency medical care and transportation for the renter and authorized drivers in case of an accident any time during the rental. This includes payment if you are unable to work as a result of an accident while in the Alamo rental vehicle. CPP benefits are also paid for pasengers and even possessions in the rental vehicles in cases involving accidental injury or loss. CPP provides the renter with 24-hour access to a wide range of professional, multilingual travel services via a toll-free telephone number. This includes help with replacing lost or stolen travel documents, filling claims, accesing emergency cash, communication messages and much more. CPP may not be available in some locations.
Breakdown Insurance (Roadside Plus RSP)
RSP is available in all US locations with charge USD 4,99 / day + Tax. RSP includes the following:
* Key replacement: replacement keys or a locksmith will be sent
* Flat tire: if the vehice's spare tire is installed and serviceable, it will be installed to replace a flat tire.
If no inflated spare tire is available, the vehicle will be towed in accordance with the towing provision.
* Towing: Towing charges will be covered at no additional cost, should the vehicle be inoperable.
* Jump Start: A battery boost will be provided in an attempt to start the vehicle.
* Lockout Service: If the keys are locked inside thevehicle, service will be sent to gain entrance.
* Fuel delivery: A limited supply of gasoline will be delivered to the vehicle to enable you to rech the nearest open service station.

One-Way Rentals
National
One-Way Rentals between ALAMO locations are free of charge within California, Florida and Hawaii as well as between California
and Nevada v.v.
All other One-Ways within the US are with charge - seetable.
The charge will be calculated from the distance between of the respective locations and is payable locally plus local taxes:
0 - 200 Miles = USD 99,-
201 - 500 Miles = USD 150,-
501 - 1000 Miles = USD 300,-
1001 + Miles = USD 500,-
Vehicles rented in Alaska must be returned to Alaska !
International
International One-Way Rentals are not allowed.
Cross Border Rentals & Territorial Restrictions
Cross Border Rentals are allowed to the following countries: Canada
Canadian residents who rented the car in the US mustn't drive to Canada.
Delivery & Collection
Premium Location Fee
A location fee will not be charged on the rental price. A location fee may be charged for extras purchased onsite, depending on the state.

We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
